Review of Blue Velvet (1986) by Jesse P — 24 Nov 2011
Rating: A+, Lynch's masterpiece. It's symbolic, it's creepy, it's well acted, it's just plain fantastic. The real show stealer is Dennis Hopper as Frank Booth, one of the great film villans.
It's sad when you realize he isn't in the film for that long, I want more of his character. The insect and bird symbolism works well with the contrasted small town life to the dark underbelly of the town.
It's a strange world isn't it.
