Review of Blue Velvet (1986) by David E — 12 Apr 2012
Despite poor Dorothy (Isabella Rossellini) being treated cruelly, "Blue Velvet" is one hell of a movie. The characters are both sympathetic (Jeffrey (Kyle MacLachlan) & sinister (Frank (the late, great Dennis Hopper)), the acting is unique in a unusual-yet-amazing-like way & the settings are both cheerful (beginning & ending) & menacing (throughout).
One of the greatest movies of the 1980s.
