Review of Blue Velvet (1986) by Andy B — 28 Dec 2014
Jesus Christ what a freakshow. That old bitch Roger Ebert is not wrong when he tells us David Lynch took some serious liberties with his actors but it's in the name of wholly original storytelling with a dark nostalgia you simply will not see anywhere else outside of other films by David Lynch.
I first saw this when I was 8 years old- blame my father. That should give you an idea of what shaped my perceptions of the adult world, and perhaps an insight into my later drug problems. Fun for the whole family!
