Review of Blue Valentine (2010) by Cafergy — 20 May 2011
Blue Valentine presents both the "blue" and the "valentine" of love. I found much of the beauty of the film in its editing, cutting between past and present seamlessly, blending the unexpected arrival of love, its ability to heal and surprise those whom it strikes, and then, sadly, following its destructiveness when lost.
All of this is done with cleverly subtle direction, and passionately powerful acting.
