Review of Blue Valentine (2010) by Charlotte T — 19 May 2013

This film is what changed my opinion of Ryan Gosling of an actor. I had not been very found of him beforehand but his role of Dean was absolutely intoxicating. Throughout the film, the revisit their teenage years and I later learned that filming had to be put on hold as a result of lacking funds.

I think this helped the film because you can visibly see the differences in the married couple's aging and weathered faces. Overall, a beautiful love story because it is bittersweet, like all of the best ones are.
