Review of Blue Valentine (2010) by Brandon S — 26 Aug 2013

Here's a film that you will always admire, and respect, and be moved by, but will never enjoy. This is one of my favorite films of all time and a hugely inspiring film to me in my screenwriting. This film is beautiful and artistic in it's exploration of human sexuality, but it still doesn't shy away from it's antiromantic darkness and ugliness.

Gosling and Williams redefine naturalistic acting with this film. The brilliant dialogue flows from them beautifully. They both have amazing chemistry, and deliver quite possibly the performances of their careers.
