Review of Blue Jasmine (2013) by Agata K — 01 Mar 2014
"Anxiety, nightmares and a nervous breakdown, there's only so many traumas a person can withstand until they take to the streets and start screaming.".
I love crazy characters! Blue Jasmine revolves around Jasmine, a woman who've hit rock bottom and moves in with her estranged sister in San Francisco. I'm not really a big fan of Woody Allen, but I think he executed his screenplay really well this time. The film was funny yet sad at the same time. Also, I've always known Cate Blanchett was a great actress, but as the titular anti-heroine, she OWNED every second of her screen time. Same goes with Sally Hawkins as Jasmine's sister Ginger.
