Review of Blue Jasmine (2013) by E L — 25 May 2014
Woody Allen writes great roles for women (though he is less concerned about men, often falling back on stereotypes). But he's not too concerned about plot believability or holes, as long as the story trundles along.
Cate Blanchett is absolutely superb, but so is Sally Hawkins. Not much comedy in this one.
