Review of Blue Jasmine (2013) by Ray S — 12 Jun 2014
The strong cast and interesting storytelling make this one of Allen's best. The premise starts off with a boang and draws the viewer in; however, around the midpoint or so, it starts to drag and get a bit repetitive.
The fairly short running time helps bring about the needed resolution. My only complaint is it seems to try a little too hard - a lot of drinking and prancing... but still good, nonetheless. Blanchett is a wonder.
4 stars.
