Cate Blanchett was indeed a worthy winner of best actress in this very well written, acted, and superbly structured tragic drama. Not really knowing anything about the movie beforehand I was expecting quite a light, funny movie, but really this is ultimately more sombre and thought provoking picture than anything else, as the movie does go down some quite dark avenues dealing with regret, hopelessness, and a strong sense of feeling lost to the world. Blanchett gives one of the best performances I've ever seen ever, and this is worth watching just for her, that coupled with everything else makes this a real winner.
