Review of Blue Is the Warmest Color (2013) by Dan H — 28 Apr 2014

A young French girl traverses the ups and downs of her own sexuality. The film is a lengthy one (I'd say too long and it can definitely drag at points), and makes for a challenging sit-through. It's full of sex, nudity, and surprisingly philosophical talk.

The two main actresses do a fantastic job, but the real standout is without a doubt Adele Exarchopoulos who portrays our primary character. She is breathtakingingly beautiful (did I mention she gets fully nude several times and has a good deal of sex scenes), dominates every single shot she is in, is quite an impressive actress, and she's got an expressive face that was made to be in film.

While the ending kind of just trails off into nowhere, the film itself is still for the most part a satisfying one.
