Review of Blue Is the Warmest Color (2013) by Dolly Z — 13 Sep 2014
In parts, the movie was successful in delivering insightful dialogue, symbolic mis-en-scene and character development throughout its three hour duration. However, I felt as if the movie didn't flow cohesively as a whole which I find problematic.
Perhaps the director's intentions were to give a mere glance into Adele's life, in her journey to figure out her sexuality, but it only seemed to scrape the surface. When you take a step back, there is not a whole lot of substance that this movie is attempting to aim for.
