Review of Blue Is the Warmest Color (2013) by Raine L — 30 May 2014
I can honestly say I've never seen it done like *that before. Or like *that. Or...like that. Thank you Netflix for having the balls to stream this more-realistic-than-porn movie on your network when no one else would.
Just read that there were 700 hours of film shot and most scenes weren't in the 3 hour film. I sure hope the reports are true that there will be additional chapters as I found it hauntingly realistic, but it really made me miss my youth.
This is all the other shows I keep seeing these days remind me that it's just not my time anymore. My time is gone. I had my chance. The world was once mine, but now it belongs to the generation behind me.
The world, the relationships, and all the love that comes with it. A movie like this shows me what I once had in life, and what will never be again. Any film that can make me feel so much, good or bad, and think such profound thoughts is worthy of 5 stars.
And despite having to pause it like 4 times because it's so long, I am ready to watch it again. But this time without the subtitles...
