Unpleasant yet captivating bleak satire of 1970s working class values set against the rather conventional and paper thin (but nonetheless engaging) plot; held together by a trifecta of strikingly dynamic and deeply hard boiled but ultimately intensely humane performances by Pryor, Keitel, and Kotto.
