Review of Blow-Up (1966) by Jason K — 08 Jan 2008
One of the best movies when it comes to style abstract philosophy.
And 60's mod movement ( British teenagers from the 1960s who dressed in prim edwardian-style clothing) what also give the movie a realistic kick is the fact that its partly based on the young life of the impeccable david bailey (a celebrated and famous english photographer) all of those elements.
Together with the revolutionary filming angles and textures.
And the oh so pure antonioni filmmaking conception make it a feast to the eye's and well also the ears since you get small glimpse of the yardbirds the foremother of modern rock with its most legendry lineup.
Featuring the perfectionist jeff beck.
And the seasoned jimi page who later transform them to the new yardbirds and then to led zeppelin.
Both (beck and page) as lead guitarist and there you have a true piece of rock history hand on a silver platter all of those make the movie a piece of contemporary.
Art at its best its must see!!!
