Review of Blow-Up (1966) by Yizhong G — 16 Jun 2008
A film investigating the ontological relationship between "image" and "reality," the essential question for film art itself. Is the narrative juxtaposition of images "produce" the reality? Or reality is itself an illusion whose meaning depends on the interpersonal mediation? These issues are crucial to the modern world, although I have to admit that I fell into sleep several times when watching this film.
