Review of Blow Out (1981) by Dave C — 05 Jan 2008
One of De Palma's best. Making the movie's artifice the whole point lets him run wild, and while actors are very low on his list of cinematic priorities, poor Travolta seems genuinely, frantically lost in the lead role.
The climactic circling fireworks-shot has more magic than some film franchises have in total.
