Review of Blow Out (1981) by Mic R — 17 Dec 2011
DePalma's love for cinema bleeds through the screen. His homage to other films and directors is alot of fun. The 'Blow Up'/'Conversation' piecing together the murder scenes are great and easily the best part of the movie.
Also the slasher movie intro is gold. But sadly the characters and dialogue are okay at best, Nancy Allen is terrible and sinks every scene she's in. Worth it for DePalma's little touches and the murder investigation but outside of that I was once again left disappointed by a DePalma movie.
