Review of Blow Out (1981) by Peter B — 16 Jul 2012
I might have enjoyed this movie much more if it weren't for Nancy Allen's annoying and 1-dimensional portrayal of the female lead. But she was not the film's only problem; the technology used by the main character is laughably inaccurate, the chase scene during the film's climax is ridiculous and poorly executed, and the payoff in the final scene is laughable/hokey.
I was hoping for a film about conspiracy and/or technology, but both of those aspects of the story were glossed over. Instead, I was tricked into watching a story about an average/boring guy inexplicably falling for the most annoying woman on the planet.
