Review of Blow Out (1981) by Graeme H — 08 Jul 2011
A De Palma thriller that takes largely from Hitchcock, but with modernized influences, circa 1980. Without a huge plot, what the film is notable for is its vivid perspective on amateur filmmaking and the use of minimalism-- the idea that we don't need to know everything.
Polarized as far as pop audiences go; amazing in terms of cinema love.
