A magnificent spectacle featuring Jean-Claude Van Damme's impressive martial arts skills. Allegedly, a true story of a US soldier who participates and in a bloody and illegal martial arts competition in Hong Kong and wins.
Even though the plot and characters are a bit cartoonish, the movie doesn't fail to get to the adolescent target audience. The soundtrack composed by Paul Hertzog and Stan Bush's songs got worthwhile acclaim.
The overall impression of the movie was a source of inspiration for the Mortal Kombat 1 video game.
