Review of Bloodsport (1988) by Zachary D — 18 May 2010
'Five stars?' you may ask. Yes, siree, but certainly not based on its artistic merits -- which don't even really exist, by the way. Sure, I'll admit that this is one knuckle-headed, generic kung-fu flick (Van Damme wouldn't have it any other way), but it will always hold a special place in my heart.
Ah, the cheesy '80s soundtrack, the b-movie-rate acting, the array of buffoonish characters... what's not to love? This is one of my guilty pleasures for life.
