Review of Blood Simple (1985) by Matthew H — 10 Jul 2014
You can see nearly every bit of Coen in this film. Their first is a superbly written and shot dark tale. As with all their films, they seem to have a great ability to get actors spot on perfect for the parts.
They draw out the black humour in scenes. They build up tension perfectly. If you like Fargo and No Country for Old Men, I'd certainly recommend you watch Blood Simple.
