Review of Blood Simple (1985) by Sonika B — 17 Nov 2008
First Coen brothers film foreshadowing their future. A successful one! You can already see their incredible dark humour, great casting, unique camera work and use of music. The light shining through the bullet holes was fantastic, the burial was insane, loved the window scene, the symbolism of the dead fish and ceiling fans were great.
Hmmm about the ceiling fans; is that where Alan Parker got the idea for the ceiling fans in Angel Heart? I am not surprised but McDormand kicked but for being her first part in a feature film.
