Review of Blood Simple (1985) by Jerome S — 03 Jan 2010
An extremely impressive debut -- especially considering that it bears such a close resemblance to even their most recent films. There are a few brilliant and iconic scenes (the gunshots through the wall at the end especially comes to mind), and although the story is a bit more simple than what I tend to like from the Coens, I was still thoroughly immersed.
Not sure it's something I will return to time and time again, but I'm definitely glad I watched it.
