Review of Blood Simple (1985) by Jason P — 12 Oct 2011
The Coen Brothers' 1st film is a worthy introduction to both their moral philosophy and their approach to film making. A taut but meditative thriller, in Blood Simple the Coens employ their curiously dry form of direction to present a simple moral: Our dangerous world is made all the more dangerous when we turn to dishonesty and criminality.
