Review of Blood Simple (1985) by Cameron H — 07 Dec 2011
Creepy little film noir with the Coens in top form already in their first film. There are a few moments of the black comedy they're known for but this is easily their second darkest film (first being the bleak as hell No Country For Old Men), with some grisly, disturbing moments and some ironic use of upbeat Motown music.
A classic debut and one of the best films of the 80's.
