Review of Blood Simple (1985) by Alex G — 20 Jul 2012
The Coen Brothers had some growing up to do. The dialogue wasn't great, the pacing was rather slow, but not bothersome. The characters aren't bland, but they're not that interesting. Frances McDormand was my favorite character.
The character of Ray was an idiot, getting himself into more trouble than he should've been. The showdown between Frances McDormand and Visser was pretty intense. I thought the plot was really good, but again, the Coens had some growing up to do.
