Review of Blood Simple (1985) by Tor M — 18 Sep 2013
Blood simple is probably the darkest film by the Coen brothers, but it had already all the distinctive features of their next movies, at least the early ones : the slow pace, a little double amount of double-crossing and misunderstanding, the cold raw violence, etc.
.. One can claim it is like a pre-Fargo. The musical theme by Carter Burwell gives it the special atmosphere it just needed.
