Review of Blood Simple (1985) by Mellow P — 02 Sep 2008
After seeing every other Coen film, watching this felt like looking at their sketchbook, but that isn't totally a bad thing. They never really returned this brand of intensity, minimalism, and flat-out seriousness until No Country, so it's interesting to put that into perspective.
However, aside from putting their work into context, this movie did little for me.
