Review of Blood Simple (1985) by Senor C — 13 Dec 2010
The Coen brothers first feature is impressive & a clear indication that they would be a force to be reckoned w/ (hell their remake of True Grit even looks good). Great Neon Noir w/ Dan Hedaya hiring a private detective M Emmet Walsh (who's just fantastic in this) to murder his wife & lover.
Double crossing & twists that kept me enthralled; @ one point in time I thought that almost the entire leading cast was dead & I was wondering where the hell are you going to go from here. Kept me glued more then any movie that I have watched in months.
Right up my alley that is unforgivable being 26 years old & I have never watched it (sitting on my PVR for over a year). Highly recommended by a good friend of mine that I should have listened to earlier.
