Review of Blood Into Wine (2010) by Allen B — 10 Dec 2010
Decent, though sometimes bizarre and convoluted documentary about a rock star's passion for making overly priced wine. The film may appeal to you if you're a fan of Maynard James Keenan, lead singer of Tool and A Perfect Circle, or if you really like wine, or both, or, more than likely, neither, as the film isn't particularly special in any way save a few moments here and there.
See it if you're curious to see how a winery works, or if you want to get the most minimal of insight into the mind of one of rock's most talented singers/songwriters. He's not a very entertaining individual, but, given his status in the genre, it's still interesting to hear him talk about the music industry and his decision to slowly distance himself from it despite all his success. Otherwise, there's no real reason to watch it.
