Review of Blood Hook (1987) by Jeff W — 11 Feb 2008
So far I'm a bit underwhelmed with the Troma movies I've watched. Besides "The Toxic Avenger", they're pretty by-the-book cheap slasher movies. This one's got an interesting hook (sorry), namely that someone's fishing for fishermen and then cleaning them like you would the fish, but considering it's a Troma film of which I've heard so much about, I expected it to be a lot more over the top.
It's got a couple funny moments, but after having seen the low-budget goodness of stuff by William Castle and American International, this stuff's just not in the same league.
