Review of Blood Father (2016) by Timm S — 15 Aug 2017
Yes, it's just about everything you'd expect from a film titled 'Blood Father' and starring Mel Gibson, which means it is neither original, nor is it particularly memorable. That being said, it certainly isn't bad for what it is.
It manages to get the tone right -- something that many of Gibson's recent efforts have failed at -- and shows off some nice cinematography, thrilling action sequences and an intense performance from Gibson that harks back to his heyday.
Despite its flaws, it's still an entertaining ride that'll remind you just what the troubled actor is capable of when he's given the chance.
