Review of Blood Creek (2009) by Jason W — 11 May 2010
Guess what, kids. Joel Schumacher has made a derivative horror flick in which an undead Nazi uses the powers of the occult to raise the dead in order wreak havoc on a small farmhouse of victims. Why haven't you heard of it? Because it went straight to DVD, and with good cause.
It's one of those plots that contains "rules" in order to keep the killer at bay, otherwise, he'd just tear into the house and kill everyone. But he can't because there are X's painted in blood on the doors and windows.
He feeds off the blood of his victims, but can't feed off of dead people. The script can't come up with a good reason why. Oh, and the blood of his family - which just happens to be in the bones of his dead relatives, which he just happens to carry with him in the form of a makeshift bone shirt - is poisonous to him.
Why? Because this girl, who doesn't age because our villain needs to keep her young for some reason, read it in a book. Should I tell you about the zombie horses and subpar CGI that make the tense scenes more funny than scary? Nah.
I guess this is where your career goes when you put nipples on the Batsuit.
