Review of Blood Brothers (2008) by Tyler W — 22 Aug 2008
I really have no complaints with this. Unlike a lot of Asian films, the story kept on trucking and didn't feel slow at all. The actors were for the most part bang on and believable as 1930's gangsters and what not.
The story was engaging and tugged at my tear ducts at the end with the flashback to the three of them before they left for Shangai. The gun battles were solid. My only complaint was it sometimes felt a little over the top, be it the trumpets or the prolonged looks or poses by the actors.
This was probably intentional, but I could have done without. Solid all around. I will purchase this next time I see it.
