Review of Blood Beach (1980) by Ennis Brokeback L — 13 May 2014
Schlock at its finest, unapologetically so, Blood Beach is just ridiculous. Bringing a bit of land-based terror to the beach-bum culture of Southern California Blood beach is a perfect counterpart to all the 'killer sea creature' movies that exploded in the aftermath of Jaws.
The movie even does a few shout-outs to that particular brand of horror. A cast stand out is Burt Young, Paulie of Rocky fame who plays a reprobate cop with delicious camp. Blood Beach is a nice little creature feature that fans of bad horror shouldn't miss.
