Review of Blood and Black Lace (1964) by D M — 30 Apr 2011
A violent thriller filmed by Bava (Black Sunday, Black Sabbath). It is seen as the first "giallo" and is somewhat inspirational to the slasher genre as well. A series of murders of fashion models occur and police search for the masked killer.
The killer is looking for a diary which documents the degeneracy inherent to the fashion industry. Beautiful women and pretty graphic killings fill this film. Very well shot, the camera is used very well to accentuate the characters thoughts and feelings, just too slow for my tastes.
