HIlarious! 2018 might be the comeback year for comedies. First Game Night (2018) and now Blockers. This movie isn't as "smart" as Game Night, but it features a great perspective on parenting and learning when to trust your kids and also it's absolutely hilarious.

The movie is about three teenage girls Julie (Kathryn Newton), Sam (Gideon Adlon) and Kayla (Geraldine Viswanathan). On the day of prom night the three agree to a sex pact and lose their virginity that night.

When their parents: Lisa (Leslie Mann, Julie's mom), Hunter (Ike Barinholtz, Sam's estranged dad) and Mitchell (John Cena, Kayla's dad) find out about this they decide to stop their kids for different reasons and follow them throughout the night in order to block them from getting laid.

The movie sounds like it would be a pretty dumb premise, but it's actually got quite a bit more to the premise than it first seems. I was extremely underprepared for the amount of comedy this one would have and I liked it a lot.

It's a story that's relatable for most adults I think as well because you'll probably have some sort of connection to the kids story, or hell even the parents concerns too. The movie works because the characters are extremely likeable as well.

I think the three teenagers were really great here and give you a female perspective and bring out the point that it doesn't always need to be a males story. The parents were great too especially John Cena! He's such a funny guy that comes off as sweet and I look forward to more of his roles in the future after seeing this.

Solid comedy film that had me laughing out loud quite a bit! Definitely give this one a look!
