Review of Blind Fury (1989) by John S — 13 May 2012
A fine Hauer action outing that benefits from some the injection of slapstick humour but also gives the movie a very uneven tone. The opening is serious and while fantastical seems to have a strong message but then devolves into prat falls, back to serious life & death and then back to fish out of water jokes.
If it wasn't for Hauer's performance the movie would have been of no note at all and its tribute to the man that even on a little movie he can raise the level of everything around him. Meg Foster is devastatingly gorgeous in her all to brief role and Terry O'Quinn manages to play a downbeat gambler you manage to like.
