Review of Blazing Saddles (1974) by Kerby H — 20 Feb 2014
This is the funniest of the Western parodies made in the 1970's. After this movie came out only John Wayne and Clint Eastwood could make a serious Western movie. I first saw this movie at the Student Union Theater at Oklahoma State University.
It had already been out for a couple of years before I saw it. Mel Brooks had his own style of humor. After he did this movie he did Young Frankenstein. Both movies are alike. He made several other movies spoofing different types of movies but none were as good as Blazing Saddles and Young Frankenstein.
