Review of Blazing Saddles (1974) by Jon T — 17 Jul 2018
Just re-watched for the first time since its initial release. I do not agree it has dated but we have become so prissy this could not be made today. It is a brash film and the humour very broad. Not all of the gags work very well but it is hard to think of many more successful comedies than this.
It's also way ahead of its time in the post modern deconstruction stakes and much more fun than Mulholland Drive. I bet David Lynch wishes he had the wit and verve to make this.
