Review of Blazing Saddles (1974) by Ethan ? — 01 Mar 2016
Outdated, but definitely not one of Mel Brooks' worst; "Blazing Saddles" humor may not fit today's standards, but "by golly" it's still funny as hell. From the unexpected, hilarious black sheriff to the outrageous fight scene at the end, nothing is off limits for the director who holds nothing back from his jokes.
Too bad, not much is at stakes here since the main hero seem immune to everything that comes to his way. Wished they gave him more, harder obstacles to deal with. Still, the film broke barriers and it deserved the recognition it could get.
