Review of Blaze (2018) by Kathy Y — 24 Aug 2018
An excellent movie about a little-known Texas musician whose songs Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson & other "Texas Outlaws" performed back in the day. Blaze had a tiny bit of fame before his untimely passing.
A very realistic portrayal of Blaze and the people around him. It shows that how one is raised, impacts one for the rest of their life. And that often times, the most talented people, are those who were treated poorly growing up.
The film does not focus on Blaze as a young boy, but you can see that his upbringing has a lot to do with his self-destructive behavior. Blaze's music is one of the stars of the show and people will appreciate it.
Excellent portrayal of Blaze's girlfriend. Funny moments peppered throughout.
