I'm not a fan of the original Blair Witch Project. When it was originally released I couldn't wait to see it, but upon my first screening, the movie reminded me of a girl I dated in College. She often promised that we would play Pearl Harbor, but her aircraft carrier never left port.

Translation; the movie was a big tease and left me with a serious case of blue balls. Although panned by many, I felt Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2 was a far better movie. If not for the directing and writing team Adam Wingard and Simon Barrett, I wouldn't have bothered with this new Blair Witch sequel/reboot, but I'm a huge fan of their last two movies, You're Next and The Guest, so I thought it would be worth seeing.

What I got was a rehash of the first movie. You do see more than you did in the first movie, including a quick and disappointing glimpse of the witch. The story centers on Heather's younger brother, who sixteen years later decides to investigate her disappearance.

The movie is shot in the same found footage style of the original, but with high tech cameras. I nearly nodded off a couple of times and the best part of the movie was when the credits started to roll.
