Review of Blade II (2002) by David S — 22 Jan 2011
I had higher expectations for 'Blade II' as it was directed by Guillermo Del Toro and had actors such as Thomas Kretschmann, Ron Perlman and Luke Goss, but as with 'Blade' I was left disappointed overall.
In making this a sequel to the first of the Blade franchise, it failed to have continuation apart from the unrealistic survival of Kris Kristofferson's character. As soon as I realised that this was a big part of the story, the spark left me. I didn't like Norman Reedus' character development or Ron Perlman's and the entirety of 'Blade II' left me hanging and feeling like there were huge gaps that were not filled at any point.
One slightly better aspect was the CGI, which is Del Toro's speciality.
5/10.
