Four stars for imperfect movies that resonate with the viewer. This isn't a great film. It's a more than good enough film. It's a fun action flick without being reduced to a Die Hard rip off.

You've got cool characters, excellent fights sequences, and some memorable lines. The final battle is less than epic but everything leading to it and the following moments are worth it. The only thing keeping Blade from a five star rating is its plot holes; some stuff just does not make sense.

Also keep in mind that this movie (along with others like The Crow) was gritty before the gritty reboots.
