Review of BlacKkKlansman (2018) by Nadjib R — 30 Oct 2018
Spike Lee carves us a beautiful well-crafted piece of filmmaking, Blackkklansman is a sight to behold, I mean where should I start from the airtight acting to the depiction of a real-life story, Spike Lee really captured the struggle years of the black people, even though this is only a minor case but through it Lee widens the scope and gives an incredible shameful portrait of racist America, and he does all of that while managing to sneak in a comedic twist in true Spike Lee fashion.
Ron Stallworth character played by John David Washington is a joy to watch, he glides from scene to scene as graceful as an actor can be, with a really slick persona and sharp attitude and what amazes me that Ron Stallworth is a real person and he's still alive till this very day, ain't that something, a black cop infiltrating the KuKlasKlan.
At the end of the day, Blackkklanman is a powerful reminder of what happened and happening right now presented to us through the medium of filmmaking and who's more suited to tell that story better than the amazing Spike Lee, I absolutely loved this film and I undoubtedly enjoyed it to its fullest.
