Review of BlacKkKlansman (2018) by Tim M — 04 Sep 2018

A good true story of a black police officer in Colorado Springs infiltrating the Ku Klux Klan to stop sick criminal activity of the group as we as within his own police department. Though 2 stars may be a stretch, I would have put a 3rd star as the acting was good, but not great. Sadly, Spike had to create a shocking end by spinning the Ku Klux Klan movement as a movement approved by the president and portraying the president as sick radical racist by implying his approval of the Charlottesville protest, which was a scene added at the end of the movie and no ties to the movie other than being a brutal protest by both the Ku Klux Klan & AntiFa; and, it gave the appearance the scene was an add on, which detracted from the film harming the quality of the film with his extreme political agenda. Otherwise, this movie would have been a solid 3 star movie, worthy of seeing, but not worthy of Academy awards. Typical Spike spin detracting and undermining a fairly good quality movie.
