Review of BlacKkKlansman (2018) by Elpaisa24 . — 02 Sep 2018
This is an excellent drama/crime Spike Lee joint that will probably make some of its viewers uncomfortable because of its obvious subplot of race relations in the late 60s and early 70s which ironically parallel our society today.
The main plot itself is interesting enough but the cast really does a great job accentuating it. John David Washington (yes Denzel's son), Adam Driver, and Michael Biscemi have such great chemistry on screen together that you forget they are cops running an investigation on the KKK.
While certain racially fueled scenes are handled in a humorous light, there are also the same amount of serious and thought provoking scenes. Hopefully your political stance won't determine how much you enjoy this film, so try to keep an open mind, because this is the true story of how an African-American police officer gained membership into David Duke's Knights of the Ku Klux Klan.
Final Review: 9 out of 10.
